PREPARATION OF CHROMIUM SALTS FROM REJECTEES OF INGASSANA HILLS DEPOSITS
(Alneelain University, 2006) Suhair Kamaleldin Hassan Shumelna
The present study aims at the possibility of using the rejectees of chromium ores deposits mining in the Ingassana Hills via preparation of chromium salts. Fifteen different samples of chromium ores were collected from rejectees of difierent qualities and locations in lngassana Hills. Chemical analysis had been carried out, applying atomic absorption; x-ray diffraction; and titrimetric method, to determine the major constituents and their quantities in these samples. From the results of this study, it was found that sample (14) has the highest percent of Cr (23.9%) and Cr2O3 (28.87%) which is selected to prepare the sodium chromite. On the other hand it was previously found that Alsalam trona species has the highest percent of carbonate and bicarbonate. So it was selected to use it to prepare the sodium chromite by fusing it with chromium ore, at different ratios of ore to trona. It was found that high percent could be yielded were ratio 110.5 give 94.4%, 1:1 give 96.7%, and 1:2 give 95.4% of Cr2O3. 1:2 ratios are selected to prepare other chromite salts due to its easy removal from the container of ignition. Although 1:1 ratio has the highest yield of Cr2O3. Preparation of sodimn bichromite Na2Cr2O7, lead chromite PbCrO4, chromium oxide Cr2O3, potassium bichromite K2Cr2O1 and chromium sulphate Cr; (S04); which are used in different chromium industries, are hold out in laboratory. This study could form the basis for this type of industry in Sudan, by forming pilot scale in order to transfer these laboratory experiments to the applied field.

EVALUTION OF SOME CHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF GRANITE. ROCKS FOR RARE ELEMENTS (Tungsten, Niobium, Tin,Tantalum)
    (Aِl neelain universityِ, 2005-04-20) Imtthal Ali Mohmmed
ABSTRACT In this study, granite rocks samples were collected from Jebel Nikrab, in the eastern Sudan. A total of 16 samples were analyzed for Fe2O3, MgO, CaO, Na2O, K20 and MnO, using the atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS) and SiO2 A1203 using Colorimeter. By classical methods analyzed for W, Ta, Nb and Sn, and all these results compared with the results have been done in the international laboratories give the same results even the results of the SiO2, A1203, CaO, MnO, F e203, MgO, K20 and Na2O. The range ofW (0.0001-0.0005), Sn (0.0001-0.0024), Ta (0.003- 0.0042), Nb (0.007-0.05). The range of oxide of Mn (0.07-0.1); Fe (0.17-17), Mg (0.009-0.3), Ca (0.05-1.2), Na (0.07-4.29) and K (0.02- 3.7).
