Ahmed; Mahgoub Sharif EltohamiBackground: Surib (Sessbanialeptocarpa) of the family Leguminosae is a wild plant widely spread in Gezira scheme and sometimes Surib seeds unavoidably mix machinery-harvested crops especially wheat. Seed comprises the major plant part and its use in human food and animal feed wasnotyetthroughly evaluated. Methods: The preliminary phytochemical screening was performed using the conventional chemical tests using precipitation and color reagents as appropriate, while the DPPH radical scavenging assay was used for the determination of the antioxidant activity of the seed. Results: Preliminary phytochemical screening of different plant parts (seeds, leaves and roots) extracts showed the presence of alkaloids in seeds and roots. Seeds and leaves of the plant were found to contain also saponins, flavanoids, anthraquinones and tannins while the roots are devoid of these constituents. The ethanolic extract of Surib seed revealed 79% radical scavenging activity compared to positive control propylgalate (95%). This antioxidant activity may be related to the presence of phenolic compounds and terpenoid constituents in the extract. Conclusion: It could be concluded that, the extract of Surib seeds exhibit an effective scavenging activity against DPPH radical as a notable natural antioxidant property that validates its folkloric use as coffee. Objectives: The objective of this study was to explore the level of parents’ satisfaction regarding nursing management of under-five children with dehydration. Materials and methods: A total of 84 parents with under-five children diagnosed with dehydration and were admitted to Jafar Ibn Ouf pediatric hospital, Ibrahim Malik hospital and Soba University hospital during the period March to June 2013. Data was collected by a pre-tested structured questionnaire and analyzed by SPSS version 16.0. Results: Findings showed that the overall, satisfaction scores were high (64%). Areas of satisfaction show; caring process (90%) followed by illness and treatment information (80%), the nurses’ competence (clinical Nursing) (52%). Less satisfaction show waiting time (28%) room cleanness and preparation (nursing environment) (47%) Findings also showed that, there was significant different between parents’ satisfaction score with education level (P-value = 0.005). Conclusion: Parents reflected high satisfaction rate in process and clinical nursing. The lower satisfied services need to be emphasized and suitable actions should be implemented to increase the quality of pediatric care in medical pediatric ward, Khartoum, Sudan Keywords: parents’ satisfaction, nursing care, under-five dehydration, pediatric ward Khartoum SudanItem Molecular detection of Torqueteno virus in healthy blood donors in Khartoum-state, Sudan(جامعة النيلين, 2009) Ahmed M Alamin; Khalid A Enan; Isam M ElkhidirTorgue teno virus (TTV) is a recently discovered virus with a high DNA prevalence in different populations. Its role in pathogenesis is uncertain. This study was conducted to determine the existence of Torgue teno virus DNA (TTV DNA), and the prevalence of (TTV), among blood donors in Khartoum State, and to generate preliminary rate of infection. The methods used in this present study were conventional PCR diagnostic methods, amplifying the untranslated region (UTR) of (TTV) in serum samples. The consensus primers used are T801 and T935, both primer are able to identify all the genotypes of this virus. 81 Sudanese blood donors, (volunteers) admitted to blood bank Soba Hospital, south of Khartoum were selected for this study. The ages of samples ranged from 18 to 60 years with the mean age of 39 years. Samples were collected throughout the period of October to November 2012. The results which are statistically analyzed show that there was No significant differences in DNA prevalence of (TTV) among blood donors (P>0.05) in their serum samples. The present study is one of first attempts to reports directly major infection rate of TTVDNA in blood donors in Khartoum state Sudan, and focus on the molecular diagnosis of TTV DNA. It revealed that TTV was circulating in Sudan among healthy blood donors. The results of present study demonstrated a high prevalence of TTV in blood donors in Khartoum State-Sudan. Further studies are required to determine prevalence of TTV in other groups and the role of TTV in the pathogenicity of acute and/or chronic liver disease. Computing resources are delivered by Virtual Machines (VMs). In such a scenario, resource scheduling algorithms play an important role where the aim is to schedule applications effectively so as to reduce the turn-around time and improve resource utilization. The problem of this paper is how to dynamically allocate the submitted jobs to the available resources in order to complete the tasks within a minimum turn-around time as well as utilizing cloud resources effectively. The objective of this paper is to propose new scheduling algorithm on cloud computing environment using Shortest Remaining Job First (SRJF) algorithm. The methodology of this research depends on simulation using cloudsim. The results of this paper revealed that the proposed algorithm (SRJF) performed better than the default scheduling algorithm. A. Awad Elkareem; Samah Mohamed Fadlla Elmula; Abdel Karim SabirThe aim of this study is to investigate the effect of salting and sun drying on the nutritive value of Oreochromis niloticus products. Fresh fish specimens of O. niloticus were subjected to salting and drying. Two salt concentrations were experimented: 20 % and 30 % wt/ vol. Fish proximate composition including the determination of moisture, ash, oil and protein contents, fat: protein ratio and caloric values were estimated. In addition, the total bacterial load was identified in the two different salt concentrations. The results which are statistically analyzed showed very clear significant differences in moisture, ash, protein contents and energy value of Oreochromis niloticus among the different treatments (P<0.05). No significant difference was detected in fat % and fat: protein ratio (P>0.05). The microbiological examination revealed that fresh and salted dried products of the O. niloticus are within the acceptable levels of the specified microbiological limits recommended by international agencies for fish and fishery products. Alsabah; Abdelrahman A. Elbadawi; Mohamed A. SiddigThe synthesis, crystal structure, optical and dielectric properties calculations of new double perovskite materials Sr2AlVO6 was described. For that the X- Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR), Ultra Violet visible (UV), and Impeadence spectroscopies were used. X-ray powder diffraction measurements show that these materials is crystallize in Orthorimbic perovskite structures with (Pnma) space group. Unit cell parameters, atomic positions, crystalline size and site occupancies were calculated by standared Rietveld method through the Fullprof programm. Lattice parameters for Sr2AlvO6 have the values; a = b = 5.5518 Å and c = 7.89380 Å. The Fourier infrared spectroscopy, UV spectroscopy and Impedance spectroscopy were applied to investigate the optical and dielectric properties of Sr2AlVO6 sample; exactly the energy gap, dielectric constant and bond vibration have been measured also.
