Abstract
Summary
This research work investigates the "effect of the incentives system on
productivity in the companies, thus reflecting an important part in the
management system which in the incentives system and the bases on
which these incentives are given. This pursued in order to develop the
performance of the employees and maintain the — on - job cadre. Due to
the increasing importance of such studies, the researcher relied on the use
of the questionnaire system on order to collect the data. The population
investigated consists of the workers and officials of the White Nile Battery
Co. Ltd.
The research work is concerned with the suitability and
commensurateness of the incentives with the efforts exerted by staff. The
research work also presumed that these is a relationship between the
increase in the incentives provided and the increase in the managerial
efficiency and also these is a direct relationship between the incentives
and the morale and job consent on the part of the employees and the on -
the — job training. _
.The research work concluded that there is a direct and positive
relationship between incentives and increase in total productively and
there is an increasing demandfor the incentives on the part of the
employees in the company. This is the natural, since Man always seeks for
more benefits. The research work also concluded that moral and material
incentive have apparent effect on productivity in the company and these
incentives increase the enthusiasm of the employees and negative
incentives have negative effect on the productivity in the company.
However, positive and negative incentives do form assort of balance in the
production system in the company. r 4
The study also found that it is imperative to establish observes the
compatibility of incentives with the efforts exerted and that there is equity in
the allowances relating to performance especially in group works. its also
necessary that wage system be related to production to differentiate
between the active and lazy employees and that the payment of incentives
should not be delayed. The management of the company has to work to
raise the standard of living of the employee and should not rely on just one
system of incentives to please the employee and realize the objectives of
the company.
