النَّتَائِجُ الأَوَّلِيَّةُ لِلْمَسْحِ الآثَارِيّ بِمَنْطِقَةِ أَدْنَى نَهْرِ أتبره

Abstract

هدفت الورقة إلى تتبع أعمال المسح الآثاري السطحي على ضفاف نهر أتبره بالضفتين الشرقية (اليمنى) والغربية (اليسرى) من ملتقى نهر أتبره بالنيل في الشمال الغربي حتى منطقة سيدون في الجنوب الشرقي من مدينة عطبرة، والتي بداها الباحث كجزء من رسالة الماجستير المقدمة في جامعة الخرطوم قسم الآثار. تناقش الورقة السمات الطبيعية والجغرافية لمنطقة الدراسة وتاريخ العمل الآثاري بها، وأيضاً لتوثيق وتسجيل المواقع الآثارية، وكيفية حفظها وحمايتها من العوامل البشرية والطبيعية في المستقبل. ويُتبع المنهج التاريخي الوصفي والعمل الميداني للوصول إلى استنتاجات عامة بشأن أنماط الاستيطان البشري القديم بالمنطقة وكنتيجة لهذا العمل فقد تم توثيق وتسجيل عدد 49 موقعاً تعود لفترات مختلفة من تاريخ السودان القديم. توصي الدراسة بضرورة مواصلة العمل الآثاري بالمنطقة، والقيام بمسح وتنقيب آثاري شامل وضم المنطقة للخارطة الآثارية بالسودان، خصوصاً وأنها مهدده بقيام المشاريع الزراعية، وتعدين الذهب الأهلي. Abstract: This paper targeted to follow the archaeological work and survey procedures at the both banks of Atbara River (right and left bank). From the Atbara area at Nile North West to Siydoon area in the south east. This work was started by the researcher at the base of his MS thesis. The paper discusses the natural and geographical characteristics of the area, history and archaeological research. This paper followed the descriptive historical approach and doing field work, to reach a back ground about the early human being settled in the region. This work aimed also to document and registers all the archaeological sites first and looking for how to preserve and protect it against the human and naturals factors. As the result of this work we document 49 archaeological sites which can be dated from the pre-historic time to historic one. The study recommends the need to continue working for archaeological survey and excavations in the region, annexation of the Sudan archaeological map, especially as the area threatened the establishment of agricultural projects and gold mining.
