The study aims to study the structure of foreign investment in Sudan, identify the most important factors influencing direct foreign investment in Sudan, study the impact of direct foreign investment in the mining sector on the national economy through the use of some economic indicators and drawing a production function for Ariab Gold mining co. The study assumes that foreign investments tends to exploit and benefit form the natural and human resources that are locally available to the state. Moreover, Sudan possesses tremendous mineral wealth, Yet the scarcity or lack of finance and technical experience as well as some structural obstacles in the infrastructure stand in the way of accomplishing many projects. In our study of foreign investment in Sudan generally, and of the mining sector in particularly, it was clear that the volume low and that they are mostly in the exploration process; this is attributable to economic and political reasons which lead to the weak contribution of this sector to the gross domestic product “G D P” . The research has made a number of recommendations to attract, push and enhance direct foreign investment in Sudan through three axis’s: - General recommendations. By. Enhancing techniques targeting the investor and generating investment as well as granting privileges and incentives reasonably and appropriately. - Recommendations pertinent to the mining sector: such as preparing a comprehensives and realistic investment map for the places where minerals are existent in Sudan and expanding the duration of exemptions in the case of exploration. Recommendations pertinent to Ariab gold mining co: such as increasing the amount of capital invested so that it can improve the size of production, develop relationship with foreign firms and establish training center. .Item اثر العمالة الوافدة في الاقتصاد الاردن(جامعة النيلين, 2000) جهاد احمد علي ابو السندسabstract This study examines the socioeconomiceffects of the Non-Jordaniain labor force, their dimensions and causes through measuring and analyzing the impact of the main variables, considering that the Non- Jordanian labor is one lof independent variables which influence the growth of the National’Economy. These variables include the GDl5; Consumption; Investment; Exports; Impoitis; and the General Price Index. The variables also include those factors relatedlt:o local labor market such as training and rehabilitation and vocational traininzcg; wage rates and work hours and unemployment rates and types. The study also investigates the effects andpressure of the Non- Jordanian labor, on _tlie socioeconomic services such as water, electricity and gas, public .transp_o_it and 'telecommunication, education ._health, public and social »‘ A -Tlie‘i»;_i_‘st1idy"ltook into consideration the demographic and economfilc cliaracteristicsfofithe Jordanian and Non- Jordanian labor force in order to test whether ' or notthere is significant statistical variation between the Jordanian anfd Non -Jordanian labor force. Two methods were used to test the assumptions of the study; the first descriptive using statistical tables and graphs. The second method applied tlife econometric model employing the common statistical techniques in this field such; as‘ multiple linear regression using least squire method.
