Item دور تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات في تقليل الفقر في السودان(جامعة النيلين, 2008) نوال فراج الطيبAbstract This research is a bout the role of information and Communication Technology in Poverty Reduction. The research aims to_highlighting the importance of the role of the ICT and endeavors to link ICT with poverty Reduction. The importance of this study stems from the lack of academic studies in this area, the researcher used descriptive analytical methodology to present and analyze the data collected from secondary sources such as annual report and other reference as well as primary data which was collected via interview conducted with expert. The interviews were about the role of ICT in poverty Reduction. The research is structured into five chapters, chapter one and two were devoted to literature review ICT and poverty literature. Chapter three is an illustration of the experiences of some selected countries in this area. The role of ICT in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) is presented in chapter four. The results of the interviews and analysis were presented in chapter five. The most important findings of the research include that ICT can be considered as an important tool to empower the poor people and marginalized societies. Also ICT has a powerful role in developing human capacity, moreover, it is highly likely that ICT could have a role in alleviating poverty in less Developed countries and Sudan specifically. Depending on these results the researcher suggested a number of recommendations: The utilization of ICT should be infused into development plans and programmers and poverty alleviation in the'Sudan. Also, the principles of ICT utilization should be embedded into the educational policies and curriculum. The best practice in this field must be taken into consideration.Item الفقر والاهداف الانمائية للالفية : حالة السودان 1990 - 2003(جامعة النيلين, 2005) كمال الدين محمد عثمانABSTRACT The main objective of this research is to describe and analyze the Millennium Development Goal’s (MDGs) indicators and trends in the Sudan during, the period 1990-2(')O2. The descriptive statistics method is used to analyze information and data available in the concerned global and national reportsl The analysis and data allows reliable results and ground recommendations. The research concludes that, and within the spreading of poverty and the inadequacy of execution poverty alleviation strategies, several achievements vis-a-vis setbacks in the MDGs can be observed (for details, see the results section). Accordingly, and in order to alleviate poverty and achieve MDGs, the research recommends a package of polices and efforts at several levels (viz. global, state, community, and family).Item الفقر والتنمية الريفية : دراسة ميدانية في مشروع التنمية الريفية لشمال كردفان(جامعة النيلين, 2007) حسين سليمان محمد احمدAbstract This study investigates the poverty and the sustainable rural development issues in the Sudan, using field survey data which had been conducted by the researcher, in north kordofan Rural Development project which was implemented in Barai and Ummrawaba localities. The primary data collection achieved by the indirect observation, participation in beneficiaries’ activities, local social leaders interviews and the project laborers Beside the local social leaders and the project laborers questionnaire. Furthermore-some of the beneficiaries‘ questionnaire performed by the direct questions due to the absence of the questionnaire idea there. Besides the reading of the project's various repots. Nevertheless the secondary data collected by reading about Sudanese rural society, Sudan economy, agricultural economy, poverty, finance, development co—operatives, and many other issues. In the intemet, ultimately the study found out that the project successfully fulfilled its objectives as concern with: economic and social poverty reduction, farmers grass root organizations, rural finance funds, beneficiaries, multipurpose training, effecient administrative units, the encouragement of popular management for the natural resources and Bara-obied Baved Street. l-low ever the project failed in marketing process and the implementation of the co-operative ideas finally study ended with some important recommendations included. To in crease the (IFAD) projects implementation period from seven to ten years, to implement the co-operation intellect to secure the sustainable rural development, to link between the formers grass root organization and the foundations which provide the finance, agricultural services and the creation of capable local and federal political will to strengthen the nrral development ideas.
