Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Hemodialysis patients are at increased risk of infection by hepatitis B viruses, which are significant causes of mortality and morbidity. Prevention of their transmission in hemodialysis units remains a challenge worldwide. Aim: The aim of this study was to associate the antibody titer with demographic data (age, gender), times of dialysis per week, duration of disease and duration from last dose of vaccine. Methods: This study was descriptive cross sectional study , conducted among chronic kidney disease (ESRD), Blood samples were collected from 82 patient's during the period from September to November 2022, all sample were tested for Hepatitis B surface Antibody By quantitative ELISA method. Results: All samples were reactive to HBs Ab , 51 out of 82 samples have protective Ab Titer, (30) of them were males and (21) were females. also the rang of protective Ab was detected 5 IU/ML As minimum and 333IU/ML As maximum and 37 IU/ML As mean. In duration of regular hemodialysis the protictive antibody was showed in.52(63.4%) patient's during different years distributed from(one up to 20)years which detected insignificant Association and negative correlation. (P value 0.843) and (Pearson correlation -0.108). In Frequency of regular hemodialysis protictive antibody Titer was detected in patient's wear dialysis 3 times per week by insignificant Association(p value:0.245) In duration from last dose of vaccine, protective antibody titer was showed in 52(63.4%).in different duration distributed from(One up to 20)years. 46 (56%), which detected insignificant Association (p value0.225) .and negatively correlation.(Pearson correlation -.072). Conclusion: In this study it concluded that HB vaccine have low response and seroconversion to protictive antibody in patient with ESRD, No significant association of protective. Ab titer with gender, times of dialysis, Negative or reversely correlation of Ab Titer with duration of disease and duration from last dose of vaccine, age. in decline of protictive antibody in patient with elder age.
