| dc.description.abstract | Abstract Samples were collected from Unity and Heglig power plants before and alter treatment. (Electrostatic Treater and Centrifilgal Separator) Samples analyzed for some physical and chemical properties, to see that it complies with power plant manufacturer specification or not. To obtain solid and constituent results, and to overcome the variation in formation properties, the samples were taken for long time. Physical and chemical parameters of crude oil were determined using standard techniques of the American Society for Testing and Materials, (ASTM). To study the relationship between power plants troubles and the various physical and chemical properties of crude oil, results subjected to statistical analysis. This study concluded that most of the physical properties improved by treatment. In addition, Na, K and Ca reduced (water-soluble), but V, Pb, Ni no changes observed (oil soluble). The Sudanese crude oil can be used as a good fuel in power plants if handled, treated and stored properly. Sudanese crude oil has high calorific value, low Sulfur and Vanadium. | en_US |
