Associations of Malaria among Refugees with Fever attending Health Centers at Alsalam Camp , Sudan EL Fasher – North Darfur

Abstract
Abstract
This study was conducted on 380 blood samples collected from patients complaining from febrile fever attending in Al Salam camp , Out of blood samples examined 188 were found positive for malaria infection . This constituted a prevalence rate 49.5% .
This study included 155 males , among them 77 were infected with malaria with a prevalence rate of 49.6% , The study also included 225 females with 111 infected with malaria constituting a prevalence rate of 49.3% . and the result was found to be statistically significant .
The study showed that were variations in the infection rates among the different age groups . The highest infection rate ( 57.7% ) was found in the (1-20) years age group , while the lowest infection rate( 29.0%) was found in the (21-40) years age group .
The lower prevalence rate of infection( 20%) was found in individuals who used nets , while the highest prevalence was ( 80% )in than don’t used mosquito net .
The result indicated that malaria rate among refugees particularly those with suggestive symptoms like fever is high and that mosquito nets may aid in protection of several people .
الخلاصة
اجريت هّذه الدراسه متضمنه 380 عينه دم تم جمعها من مرضي يعانون من الحمى فى معسكر السلام للنازحين . وبعد فحصها وجد ان 188 عينه كانت تحتوى علي طفيل الملاريا ومن هنا نلاحظ ان معدل انتشار المرض كان بنسبه 49.8% .
هّذه الدراسه تضمنت 155 من الّذكور , حيث وجد ان 77 منهم مصابين بمعدل انتشار 49.6% , و 225 من الاناث حيث وجد منهم 111 مصابين بمعدل انتشار 49.3% .
اظهرت هده الدراسه ان اكبر معدل انتشار كان في الفئه العمريه (1-20) سنه بمعدل 57.7% , واقل معدل انتشار كان في الفئه العمريه (21-40) سنه بمعدل 29.0%
اظهرت الدراسه ان استخدام الناموسيه يقلل من خطر الاصابه بالمرض , حيث ان الافراد اللدين يستخدمون الناموسيه قل خطر الاصابه بالمرض الي 20% , بما كان معدل الانتشار عند الاشخاص اللدين لايستخدمون الناموسيه الي 80% .
هّذه النتائج تبين ان نسبه الملاريا في النازحين خاصه اللذين لديهم اعراض مثل الحمى عاليه و ان الناموسيات تساعد في حمايه هولاء الاشخاص .
