Sensitivity of Trypansoma evansi to human serum

Abstract

Background: T.evansi is known to be pathogenic to animals but detection of human trypansomiasis raised the question of its infectivity to man as well, the study aimed to investigate the human serum on trypanosomes in vivo (mice). Methods: four exiperment was conducted on mice, use human serum and camel serum as control and inoculated into experimental mice and determine the parasitemia on each group. Results: In mice which injected with human serum with parasite; the parsitemia reduced and death occurs in last days, contrast to control group in which the parasitemia raised. Conclusion: the human serum can be as inhibitor factor which that destructed the parasite.
