Abstract This study was performed at Khartoum State, during the period Aug 2014 -Oct 2016. Objective: of the study: the aim of the study was to determine the rate of infection of T.vagina/is and associated micro-organisms in women attending clinics presenting with gynaecological disorders. Materials and methods: among the women presented with gynaecological disorders, 100 women who showed T.vagina/is in their urine were enrolled in the study. Two vaginal swabs were taken from these positive women, one for Gram staining and the other for in vitro cultivation. 50 vaginal swabs were taken from non-infected women as controls. Results: Trichomoniasis occurred in 70 and 30% in married and non-married women respectively with higher rates in 25-34 years old group. Infection was encountered in the various hospitals and among women from various residential areas. Out of a total of 100 T.vagina/is cases, 70 showed growth, with 4 organisms namely: Staphylococcus aureus (27%), Klebseilla (14%), E. Coli (6%) and Candida (6%). Recurrent infections correlate with bacterial load (P= 0.04) but not with age nor marital status. In the present study, 5. aureus was susceptible to vancomycinem, ciprofloxacin and amoxicillin/ clavulanate and resistant to cefuroxime, while E. Coli and Klesie/Ia were susceptible to colistin, gentamicin, ciprofloxacin and resistant to ceftazidine, ampicillin and cefuroxime/ Axetil. There was significant association with recurrent among vaginosis patients. Vancomycin was active against S.aureus while gentamycin was active against both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. Conclusion: the study demonstrated positive association between T.vaginalis infection and microorganisms.en_US
