Abstract
The research dealt with the role social worker in school domain,
and its reflection on study intake for community development at the
govemmental primary schools. K_l121l1Ol.11'1'1 State, East Nile locality,
Eastem Sector.
The research aimed to recognize and investigate many objectives:
To indentify more prevailing problems among the pupils at
governmental schools. In addition to clarify the role that will be
leaded by the social worker in solving of school problems. And
what are the major difficulties and obstacles that face the social
worker and affect his performance.
The research was based on multiple hypotheses included — the
important role of social worker in school to solve pupils‘ problems
in basic school levels. Also the presence of the social worker has
positive contribution to solve pupils‘ problems like social,
economic, psychiatric and environmental problems. Moreover the
steady increase of pupils‘ problems due to the absence of role of
social workers and their extensions in basic schools.
The methods of case study methodology, descriptive and historical
methodologies were used in the study. To realize the above
hypotheses. Furthermore the research depended on various samples
of pupils (boys and girls) at primary schools where study research
was conducted. In addition to the samples were taken from the
school governmental social workers.
The research was made use of three tools for data collection:
Questionnaire, interview and intended observation.
The result indicated that the main finding of the research was the
school social worker has an important role in solving pupils‘
problems and whenever environment of pupils‘ family, school and
economic situations getting more improved, the pupil will be
exposed to less encounter problems. Also the results indicated that
the social worker who is specialized and qualified graduate in social
work has ability to deal with school problems and is successful
vocational in work better than those who are working with
experience or those who holding other specialties. The result
reported here indicated the social worker has good potential role in
social quality and cultural at school through several programmes
which introduced and that obviously reflected a positively on both
school environment and the local community. Finally the research
concluded that the most important recommendations were: the
recognition of the role of social worker by multiple media and
information means, holding training course and workshops in order
to evaluate assess and improve the performance.
