Abstract

Abstract The research aims to identify the concept of clients' insolvency in banks, as well as to identify the effects of such phenomenon on banks' collapse. It also aims to articulate concept of banking finance, its methods and control of grant thereof. The research problem is represented in the review of phenomenon of clients' insolvency and potential economic impacts arising thereon in banks, with a view to identify, kinds and impacts of such phenomenon on banks. The research purpose is also to know the modality of limiting this phenomenon through a detailed study of a sample of selected banks. The research has tested the following hypotheses: 1. Lack of perfect and precise feasibility study leads to clients' insolvency. 2. Lack of correct assessment and evaluation of guarantees that clients provide leads to insolvency. 3. Clients' insolvency is a result of general economic circumstances and reasons. Research methodologies: The researcher has adopted deductive, inductive, analytical descriptive and the historical approaches. The research has also arrived at the following findings: 1. Insufficiency of feasibility study that bank depends on upon granting finance leads to clients' insolvency. 2. Bank incorrect assessment and evaluation of guarantees that client (finance-seeker) provides lead to client's insolvency. 3. Clients' insolvency towards the bank has been the result of natural disasters and general economic circumstances and reasons surrounding the bank work environment. Recommendations: 1. The researcher recommends that Sudanese banks have to establish a central unit affiliate to banks federation specializes in provision of information about clients, markets and prices, in order to ensure exactitude and accuracy of feasibility studies provided by clients for finance grant. 2. The researcher recommends Sudanese banks to deal with perfect guarantees upon granting finance, as well as verifying the accuracy of guarantees provided. 3. The researcher recommends the Sudanese banks to establish a fund to treat bad debts inflicted on some banks provided that its revenues shall be deducted from the total realized gains.
