Frequency of ABH secretors and non secretors in Shendi state

Abstract

الملخص الخلفية و الهدف: فصيلة الدم وحالة الإفراز(secretor status )لها اهمية بالنسبة لبعض الأمراض في الطب السريري والطب الشرعي. هناك اختلافات جغرافية وعرقية في جميع أنحاء العالم في توريث حاله الافراز. وكان الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو تقييم حالة الافراز بين السكان السودانيين الطريقة: تم جمع عينات من الدم واللعاب من أفراد سودانيين يتمتعون بصحة جيدة ، وجميعهم من سكان مدينة شندي خلال الفترة الممتدة من أغسطس 2019 إلى أكتوبر 2019 ، وتم تحديد فصائل دم ((ABO و (Rhesus) الخاصة بهم بالطرق التقليدية ، وتمت دراسة حالة إفرازهم بواسطة طريقة تثبيط التراص الدموي للعاب. النتائج: أظهرت النتائج أن 36.8 ٪ من مجتمع الدراسة كانوا يفرزون فصيله الدم في اللعاب بينما 63.2 ٪ لايفرزونها . الخلاصة: ((secretor status في السودان يختلف اختلافًا كبيرًا عن بقية العالم ، وقد يكون ذلك بسبب اختلاف الخلفية العرقية المشاركة في هذه الدراسة.

Abstract Background and Objective: ABO blood group and secretor status is valuable in relation to some diseases in clinical and forensic medicine. Across the globe there are geographic and racial differences in the frequency of secretors and non-secretors. Aim of this study was to evaluate the Frequency of ABH secretors and non secretors among Sudanese population Methods: Blood and saliva samples were collected from Sudanese apparently healthy individuals all were residents of Shendi stateduring the period betweenaugust 2019 to October 2019 Their ABO and Rhesus blood groups were determined by conventional methods, and their secretor status was studied by hemagglutination inhibition method of saliva. Results: Results showed that 36.8%of the study population were ABH blood group secretors while 63.2% were non-secretors. Conclusion: frequency of secretors and non-secretors in Sudan is greatly different from the rest of the world and that might be due to different ethnic background involved in this study.
