Estimation of (Serum Zinc, Magnesium and Copper) in Sudanese Patients with Type2 Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract

Background: This study is cross sectional case control study conducted in El-fasher teaching hospital during period April to September 2019. Objective of this study is to evaluate of altered level of trace elements (serum zinc, magnesium and copper) in Sudanese patients of type2 diabetes mellitus Materials and Methods: This study 80 subject were determination of serum copper, magnesium and zinc level 40 were type2 diabetic patients and 40 apparently healthy non diabetic servers as control group for compression. The serum copper, magnesium and zinc were estimated by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer method. Results: The analysis showed that is significantly decrease in mean value of serum copper in type2 diabetic when compared with control group with p value (P=0.000).Also the study showed magnesium result was normal in type2 diabetic when compared with control group with (p =0.664). Also the study showed significantly decrease on serum zinc level in type2 diabetic when compared to control group with (p = 0.000). Conclusion: According to the result of this study the serum copper and zinc are significantly decrease on type2 diabetic when compared with normal control, while serum magnesium was insignificantly differ on type2 diabetic when compared to control.
