Abstract
Abstract
Back ground: Family planning services are important issue 'm
promoting health of mothers, children, families and communities. It
improves health through adequate spacing of pregnancies and avoiding
pregnancy in at high-risk groups.
The overall objective: _
The overall objective of the study was to _a_sls§ (determine, measure)
the clients’ satisfaction with the quality of family planning services
provided.
Research methodology:
The study was a descriptive, cross-sectional health facility-based
study. The study was conducted in Omdurrnan locality. Fifleen health
centers were randomly selected by stratified sampling and a total of
250 glig1Lts_ (participants) at the reproductive age (15-49 years old)
were enrolled in the study. Data were collected using an exit
questionnaire to assess the clients‘ (participants) demographic
characteristics and satisfaction withfamily planning services provided
for them. SPSS version 16 was used to analyze the collected data.
Results:44% of the participants were in age group 21-30. 70% of the
participants were able to discuss issues related to their reproductive
with health care providers, more than half of the participants (55%) the
healthcare providers did not discuss with them other family planning
methods. 80% of the studied group they mentioned that there was no
privacy during family planning consultation.Most of clients
(participants) (70%) was satisfied to discuss issues and concem related
to their reproductive health . About half of the participants (49%) were
satisfied with the amount of information they received. 88% of the
participants were satisfied with the total time to receive the service.
89% of the participants were satisfied with the approach the staff
treated them. Regarding relation between clients‘ level of education
and amount of information they were received about the selected
methods there was insignificant statistical association between the two
variables (P value = 0.107). l
Conclusion: The majority of the participants were able to discuss
issues and concern related to their reproductive health with the
healthcare providers, while most of them mentioned that there was no
privacy during family planning consultation. About half of the
participants were satisfied with the amount of information they
received.
