Abstract
ABSTRACT
As a statistical population , the students of the Sudanese
universities are grouped in to two main groups, which are
Sudanese or Arabian high secondary school graduates.
According to the admission term of the Sudanese students,
previous groups are splited internally into two subgroups, which
are general or private qualified students .
This study aimed to compare the academic performance of
the students , estimating the arithmetic mean for each subgroup
and applying the formulae of random sampling .
The hypothesis that a higher performance is expected for:
- Sudanese certificate holder than Arabian certificate holder.
- General qualified students than private qualification students.
The justification is included within the study .
The empirical results of the statistical analysis confirmed the
above-mentioned hypothesis .
It should be mentioned that this study focused on a single
faculty , but most of the characteristics of the study population
were available at a reasonable representation percentage .
