dc.description.abstractAbstract Brucellosis was known as a serious disease infects animals and transmitted to man leading to health and economic problems. This study was performed to determine the prevalence of brucellosis among dairy farm workers in the agriculture area of Kassala were collected from farm workers due to their continuous contact with farm animals (cattle).State where most of dairy farms were located. Brucellosis is a zoonotic disease; therefore samples Sera were collected from 50 dairy farm workers, 36 from whom who have no contact with animals, 10 from febrile patients attended at Tropical medicine hospital and 10 known positive for brucella. All the farm workers were healthy and neither vaccinated against brucellosis nor received anti-brucella treatment; some of them consumed raw milk. All were male and their ages were ranged between 15 and 70 years. All sera were tested using both Rose Bengal test (RBT) and Tube agglutination test (TAT). The percentage of the positive samples was 4%, all sera from those who have no contact with animals and those from febrile patients were negative, while all sera that known to be positive for brucella were positive.en_US
