Abstract
Abstract
Backgr0und:Tamarind is common tree in tropical africa and west of sudan ,this
fruit is rich in manyimportant vitamins and minerals.Since the Tamarind powder
contain magnuisium and potassiumand vit-C,which help absorption of iron from
the diet ,s0 it enhance increasing of Hb level in people who suffering from IDA.
Methodszlntervention study conducted in period from December 2018 to
February 20l9.In this study eight subjects(40 anaemic individuals &40 healthy
volunteers).For all aneamic and healthy we estimated
Hb,WBC,RBC,HCT,MCV,MCH,MCHC,PLT in pre intake of Tamarind juice
and then afler 8 weeks from intake by using automated heamatology analyzer.
Result: In this study there was significant increase
Hb,RBC,HCT,MCV,MCl-IC,MCHCp.value(0.000,0.036,0.034,0.002,0.027,0.00
0)respectively and sinificant decrease in WBC,PLT p.value (0.000,0.00l)
respectively in case after drinkind of juice. while in control there is significant
increase in Hb, RBC,HCT, MCH p.value(0.043,0.0l0,0.0l6,0.044)recpectively
but no significant decrease in WBCand PLTp.value (0.335,0.738)respectively.
Conclusion:
There was significant increase in selected CBC (Hb,RBC,HCT
MCV,MCH,MCHC and significant decrease inWBC,PLT in anaemic group
after drinking of Tamarind juice.there was no statstical differant between case
and control groups.
