Assessment of Hormonal profiles among Sudanese Polycystic ovary syndrome

Abstract

Abstract Backgrounds: High levels of some reproductive hormones and blood glucose were associated with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and also associated with high level of androgen. Acne, Hirsutism , hypertension and diabetes mellitus were complicated of Hyperandrogenism. Objective: The purpose of the present study was to assess the serum Follicle stimulating hormone , luteinizing hormone, progesterone and blood glucose level. Methodology: The across-sectional hospital based study, conducted in Basher laima clinic, Omdurman city, Khartoum state. The study carried out from September to November2018. 100 women diagnosed with PCOS with age ranged between 18to 35 years, and Body Mass Index ranged between 19.2 to 36.1. The serum hormones were measured using radioimmunology assay (TOSOH), blood glucose was estimated using enzymatic method. Results: The luteinizing hormone was significantly (p value=0.000) increase with PCOS and also with PCOS and Hirsutism. The blood glucose levels was significantly (p value=0.000) with PCOS, PCOS with Diabetes mellitus and PCOS and hypertension. And the association between age and serum luteinizing hormone (P=0.028, r: 0.220). Conclusion: The study revealed that, The luteinizing hormone was significantly increased with PCOS and also with PCOS and Hirsutism. The blood glucose levels were significantly with PCOS, PCOS with Diabetes mellitus and PCOS and hypertension. And the association between age and serum luteinizing hormone.

خلفيات: ارتبطت مستويات عالية من بعض الهرمونات التناسلية والجلوكوز في الدم مع متلازمة المبيض المتعدد الكيسات (متلازمة تكيس المبايض) وترتبط أيضا مع ارتفاع مستوى الاندروجين. حب الشباب ، الشعرانية ، ارتفاع ضغط الدم ومرض السكري كانت معقدة من فرط الأندروجينية. الهدف: كان الغرض من هذه الدراسة هو تقييم هرمونات تحفيز جريب المصل ، هرمون اللوتين ، مستوى هرمون البروجسترون ومستوى السكر في الدم. المنهجية: الدراسة التي أجريت في المستشفى على مستوى القطاعات ، والتي أجريت في عيادة بشير لعيمة ، مدينة أم درمان ، ولاية الخرطوم. نفذت الدراسة من سبتمبر إلى نوفمبر 2018. تراوحت 100 امرأة مصابة بـ متلازمة تكيس المبايض مع تقدم العمر بين 18 إلى 35 سنة ، وتراوحت مؤشر كتلة الجسم بين 19.2 إلى 36.1. تم قياس هرمونات المصل باستخدام فحص المناعي الإشعاعي (TOSOH) ، وتم تقدير نسبة الجلوكوز في الدم باستخدام الطريقة الأنزيمية. النتائج: زاد هرمون اللوتين زيادة ملحوظة (قيمة (p = 0.000) مع متلازمة تكيس المبايض وكذلك مع متلازمة تكيس المبايض والشعرانية. كانت مستويات السكر في الدم بشكل ملحوظ (قيمة( p = 0.000) مع متلازمة تكيس المبايض ، متلازمة تكيس المبايض مع داء السكري و متلازمة تكيس المبايض وارتفاع ضغط الدم. والعلاقة بين العمر والهرمون المصل لوتين (P = 0.028 ،r =: 0.220). خاتمة: كشفت الدراسة أن هرمون اللوتين زاد بشكل كبير مع متلازمة تكيس المبايض وكذلك مع متلازمة تكيس المبايض والشعرانية. كانت مستويات السكر في الدم بشكل ملحوظ مع متلازمة تكيس المبايض ، متلازمة تكيس المبايض مع داء السكري و متلازمة تكيس المبايض وارتفاع ضغط الدم. و العلاقة بين العمر و هرمون اللوتين المصل.
