Objective:
The overall objective of this study was to explore job satisfaction
among midwivers in the public hospitals.
Method
s:
A cross-sectional hospital-based study was conducted among midwivers working in
antenatal care outpatient clinic, antenatal word, post natal word, delivery room in
Omdurman maternity hospital, ralshahk Mohamed Ali fadul alsoody,and ombada
alnamoozagy hospital in Omdurman locality in Sudan, A total number of midwives
were enrolled in the study. A self administered questionnaire was used to obtain
information from study participants, data were analyzed by using SPSS (version 16 )
.
and the finding were presented
as table and figure cross tabulations with p
value(0.05) or less to accept associations between variables.
Results:
The most important factor make midwives to satisfied by their work were Saving
mothers and new born lives(43%), Serving community(34%), Stability of job and its
future prospects(17%),Income(6%). Most of midwives (91% )are agree that
equipment and supplies need for work are available and sufficient.
Conclusion:
The majority of this sample were highly satisfied with their work.
and were enjoying their continue work as midwife post retirement.
