Impairments of Power Line Communication

Abstract

This paper for studying the basic impairments that could be met in the power line communication (PLC) channel. Actually, the network of power lines classified according to voltage level that vary from high, medium to low level in term of measure. All types of the power lines can be affected by the different factors (such as: disturbance, attenuation, multipath, interference and noise) that will cut the level of communication channel performance appreciably. This study also demonstrated and defined power line communication subjects practically issue of the types of noise (back ground noise and impulsive noise) based on some specific parameters Keywords— Power Line Communication (PLC), Background Noise, Impulsive Noise, Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN). المستخلص: الهدف الرئيسي من هذا الدراسة هي دراسة المعوقات التي تواجه نظام الاتصال عبر خطوط الطاقة (PLC). حيث تم تصنيف شبكة الاتصال عبر خطوط الطاقة الى عالية (high)متوسطة (medium) ومنخفضة (low) بناءا على مستوي الطاقة power levelفي خط النقل. وجميع هذه الأنواع تواجه معوقات عديدة علي سبيل المثال: التوهين (attenuation) ، الاضطراب(disturbance) ، التداخل(interference) ، تعدد المسارات (multipath) والضجيج (noise)مما يؤدى الى تقليل كفاءة قناة النقل. في هذه الدراسة تطرقنا لمعظم أنواع المعوقات التي تزيد من نسبة الخطأ في البيانات المستقبلة. أيضا تم دراسة وتصنيف ومقارنة أنواع الضجيج (back ground noise and impulsive noise) التي تؤثر على هذه قناة power line اعتمادا على عدة عوامل مثل المدى التردد، الفترة الزمنية للضجيج والمسببات.......الخ الكلمات المفتاحية: الاتصال عبر خطوط الطاقة ، الضجيج الخلفي ، الضجيج النبضي ، ضجيج جاوس الأبيض المضاف
