Abstract
Abstract
This research aimed to investigating the parenting styles of
parents of mental retardation and it is relationship to some variables .
The researcher used the descriptive method , she used parenting styles
to collect the data . She selected sample consist of (70) children .
The research used suitable statistical tests to analyze the data and
proved the hyposis of the study including Alpha cronbach coefficient
and T-Test one sample and two independent samples . The results
indicated that:
Q The parenting styles of parents of mental retardation one significant
positive high .
I There are no significant statistical differences parenting styles
between parents according to variable of sex(male and female ) .
0 There are no significant statistical differences in parenting styles
between parents according to residence of family( urban-rural) .
0 There are no significant statistical differences in parenting styles
between parents of mantal retardation children according to
children sex (male — females).
0 There are significant statistical differences in parenting styles
between parent in dimension of rejection—acceptance according to
variable of sex of parents in favor of mother , whereby , there are
no significant differences in other dimensions .
0 There are significant statistical differences in parenting styles
between of rejection — acceptance between parents according to
education level, whereas , there significant differences between
basic education level and high graduate, also differences between
secondary level and high graduate level in favor of high graduate
education level.
0 There are no significant statistical differences in parenting styles
between mothers of children according to variable of education
level , there are differences between non- educated and graduate
education level , non educated and high graduate , basic and
graduate level, and basic and high graduate in favor of graduate in
of graduate and high graduate .
In confusion the researcher presented some recommendation and
suggestions
