Abstract Novel DNA virus named Torque teno Virus (TTV) was isolated in 1997 from the sera of patients with post transfusion non A-G hepatitis (TTV) has been reported in world with high prevalence. The aim of this is study is to investigate the frequency of TTV viraemia in 83 blood donors in Khartoum-state, Sudan. Serum samples were screened for TTV DNA using polymerase chain reaction G’CR) to detect (N22) region. The results obtained showed that fifiy one (61%) out of 83 healthy blood donors were tested positive for TTV using nested PCR to detect N22 region. The study revealed that TTV was circulating in Sudan among blood donors. In addition, it demonstrated a high prevalence of TTV in blood donors which require further research work to characterize TTV at molecular level and Identify the common TTV genotype in Sudan_ Key words:TTV, N22, PCR.en_US
