Abstract

Al-Syyab is a pioneer among others in the domain of Arabic poetry- modernism. His poetry is characterized by symbolism in which he found refuge to avoid the coercive circumstances of the suppressive systems; he therefore, used it successfully in his poetry. During his traveling worldwide, Al-Syyab also equipped himself with the knowledge of symbolism according to the Western Schools and this constitutes a prominent feature in his poetry.
