Abstract Samples of zinc oxide have been prepared in a liquid phase, by using zinc chloride mixed with sodium hydroxide. After heating the sample by microwave and conventional oven, the difference of time preparation between microwave oven and conventional oven was recorded (the energy gap for the sample was prepared microwave oven 4.65 eV & the energy gap for the sample was prepared conventional oven 5.24 eV). By analyzing the samples with (UV/Vis spectrometer), hence the sample was classified as an insulator. Analyzing samples using (FTIR spectroscopy), results obtained indicated that the sample has different bonds.en_US
