Abstract

ABSTRACT _ In this study Gum Arabic (GA) doped with Aluminum Oxide (A1103) had been prepared by solid state chemical method. The samples were treated thermally at different temperatures and characterized by X-ray diffractometer and impedance spectroscopy. The results obtained showed amorphous structure and temperature dependent electrical conductivity. At 300 k the pure GA sample had acquired highest conductivity, which gradually decreases with increasing temperature. The same features were observed after doping GA with different A1103 concentrations. Such decrease can attribute to the expanded grain boundaries caused by liberation of Oxygen originated from high reactivity of Al with earboxyl group in GA. Calculated diffusivity of A1203 at different temperatures had indicated that, the GA substance turned into semiconductor.
