Synthesis and optical properties _of Ni,,Mg1_xFe204 Nano-Ferrites Using Co-precipitation Method.

Abstract
The Ni-Mg nano-ferrites, having the chemical formula Ni,Mg1_,,Fe204 (x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.15,
0.2 and 0.25), chemical co-precipitation method. Synthesis and optical properties have been
studied in details using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Ultraviolet visible
spectroscopy (UV-Vis). FTIR spectra to investigate chemical bands of the compounds, the
vibrations were found around 3233-3347, 1644-1649, 1408, 1107 -1114, 610-601 and
449—440c'm'1 in all samples characteristics of spinel structure: and studying some optical
properties such as (absorption, absorption coefficient, Extinction Coefficient, refiactive index
and band gap Energy). The absorption for the samples were found to be in the range 0.87 to
2.68 a.u, absorption coefiicient and Extinction coefficient decreased whereas Refractive index
increased with the increasing in nickel concentration. The energy band gaps of the samples
were found to be in the range fiom 4.69 to 4.77 eV which are insulators.
