Abstract
This study is concerned with the problem of the
students’ achievement in English. It aims at
investigating and analyzing the relationship between
teacher’s characteristics and the students’
achievement in English at Sudanese Universities.
It utilizes a quantitative method to reveal the result
numerically. The researcher has distributed a
questionnaire for 70students at Al Neelain University.
The results reveal that, the out –doors activities
assignments could foster students’ linguistics
competence .The result also reveals that the way of
teaching (affects on) the students achievement.
This study suggests some recommendations, for
instance the Ministry of higher education should
recruit teachers with certain characteristics, and
teachers should use videos and movies to foster the
students’ spoken language .Teachers should praise
and encourage the students to improve their abilities
in language.
