Abstract

Abstract The study concentrated the role of petroleum — producing oil companies in the development of the communities existing in Faluj Locality which attached to Malut County, located in the North of Upper Nile State. The answer of the questions emerging on the surface to see whether the any positive impacts on producing of petrol in this area, especially those which relevant to the social, economical and psychological aspect. Since there has been few studies focus on these studies. we tried to consecrate our study on this important subject of the research. because there has been great transformation happened in this area attributed to exploration of the petrol in this area. 1- The study targeted the positive impact relevant to the petroleum producing companies. 2- Recognizing the social and economical development relevant to the petroleum companies. 3- Recognizing the social change happening to the people's ofthis area. 4- Showing the advantage ofthis research by giving a perspective look. The researcher using the descriptive system in the meeting of some individuals and some elite peoples in this area, also the researcher using the qualitative system by selection some samples and also the historical system to show the history of this area before and afier the end of the petroleum producing companies. many remarks and records has been registered. The conclusion: The researcher has been reached many to the t‘ol|o\ving" 1- lmprovement in the economical situation ofthe peoples in this area. 2- There is and improvement in the individual stander of living improvement in the educational services, hygienic services and other social services. 3- The processing operation of the petrol has a negative impact. such as the epidemic diseases became rampant. animal herds perished. soil lacking fertility. the \vater polluted. The recommendations: 1- Accelerating and dilating the hygienic services, electricity, pure water. 2- Purifying the polluted water due to spilling from pipes of the exported petrol. 3- To convince the peoples in the area to move to the ancient Faluj by offering them financial reparation. 4- Enlightening people in this area the existence of petroleum — producing companies is so crucial to keep good relation with these companies.
