The Effect of Expert English Language Teachers on the Proficiency of Sudanese EFL Students

Abstract

Abstract This study investigates the effectof the expert English teachers on the proficiency of English language among Sudanese EFL students. A questionnaire was administered to 20 English language teachers selected based on convenient sampling techniqu efrom different universities of Sudanfor instance Sudan univers ities for science and technology, Khartoum university, Al-Neelain univ ersity Alslam college and Albian college. Descriptive statistic techniques were used to analyze the questionnaire data. The analysis rev ealed that the majority of teachers agreed that professional teachers ha ve an affective positive role on students’ achievement; the majority of the respondents agreed that the absence of teacher-student relation ship willless effect the students’ achievement in English.Most of the respondents agreed that noviceteachershave less effect than professional teachers on students’ proficiency in English language.
