Technique selection is one of the frequent issues in the requirement elicitation process; this issue has a major impact on the final requirement report output. The unfortunate selection of the techniques could lead to improper requirements and thus increase the risk of failure for the intended project. This paper addresses the technique selection issue encountered during the requirements elicitation (RE) stage, through a proposed a model in which the analyst, the stakeholder and the technique properties are the base for the elicitation technique selection. The proposed mathematical model relies on the analyst, stakeholder and techniques surveyed attributes ratios to train the data using k-nearest neighbors’ algorithm and to provide the best optimal technique nomination, for the situational complexity.en_US
