A bstracf The study dealed with the impact of energy use on sustainable development in Sudan with a focus on the renewable energy. The reaseach problem is drawn from the limited contribution of renewable energies in the productive sector‘ along with high dependency on traditional sources of energy. The problem is also highlander by the meager resources allocated for the renewable energy sector development" and the lack of information in this respect. The study assumed that, The dependency on traditional sources ofenergy (oil, gas etc...) the increasing use of which causes scores of environmental, material and health problems and The supply of renewable energy systems contribute in providing a pure, healthy and cheap.renewable source of energy thus, protecting the environment and foresters. 4 by using the descriptive and analytical approach, the study found that, the use and dissemination of several renewable energy systems especially the thermal and solar energies besides the propagation of biomass technologies in various Sudanese states contributes in providing a new source of energy. The impact of the results was significant with regard to the improvement of the economic and social standing ofthe villages in terms ofclectricity and irrigation. lt has also contributed to enhance the level of different services within the areas where these technologies are implemented. Also the renewable energy helps in creating new industries and investment opportunities that many constitute an added value with oil in mitigating the dependency on oil in all sectors of the economy. Tliis has led to the global \varming as a result of the concentration of the toxic gases emanating from industries and car exhausts. Then the study recommended that Since the Oil as a diminishing source of energy. Therefore, we should not depend on_ it as a permanent resource,The mitigation of its use should be undertaken by introduction of other sources ofenergy by using the oil resources surplus. Focus on the development of the renewable energy sector with a view to protect the environment and mitigate the global warming threat stemming from the used oftraditional energy.therel'or, Sudan should focus on renewable energy sources, such as the expansion ofethanol production and solar energy through the support ol‘ research projects in the field ol’ renewable energy -

(جامعة النيلين, 2007) فرح الصديق احمد
Abstract This study discussed renewable energy and its economies. It focused on Sudan as a case study. lt noticed that the renewable energy has some characteristics which distinguished it from other energy sources since it is renewable where as others is not disappeared such as petroleum. ln addition it is clean from environmental point ofview and it acts as a remedy from all climatic changes. Also the study focused on the research problem which introduce by the main research question what is the role to be played by renewable energy in countries economices’? And what is the strategy followed by countries to benefit from the new and renewable energy in addition to sub question which are answered inside the research. The study used some both descriptive and analytical‘ approaches, Contemporary scientific approach which includes‘ the two approaches which are inductive and predictive ./\ll those approaches are important and useful in solving research problem. The renewable energies which have many characteristics that plays a wide and important role in the economies of all countries. The study showed the lack of c comprehensive strategy in both governmental and private levels for financing projects using renewable energies as substitute for traditional energy so as to meet the future requirements and contribute to stability. The study is composed of four chapters. The first chapter deals with theatricals frame work , chapter two discusses the meaning of new and renewable energies , chapter
