Item The Impact of Business Environment on FDI in Africa: GMM Estimations.(DEANSHIP OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH, 2018-12) . Abdelbagi Edrees Saied, Kamal Eldeen Mohamed OsmanFDI inflows in Africa are very low compared to other region, therefore, this study examines the impact of business environment on foreign direct investment inflows in Africa; it covers 50 African countries for the period 2000 to 2014. The study utilizes annual data from World Bank, and Mo Ibrahim Foundation. The study conducted system dynamic GMM estimation to examine the impact of business environment and other controlling variables on FDI in Africa. The results show that business environment play an important role in attracting foreign investors besides economic growth, financial development, inflation, and political stability. The results also show insignificant impact from trade on FDIs, school enrolment appeared to have negative significant impact on FDIs inflows, however.
