Refractive Error Changes in Type2 Diabetic Patients
(Al-Neelain University, 2019-02) Zahra Mahmoud Ahmed Fadl
Abstract This study aim to detect changes in refractive error and visual acuity in patients with diabetes type 2 . The study conducted in Khartoum state between September and November 2014 in Jabir Abuliz specialized diabetics center . The study sample included 50 subject (100 eyes) selected as 28 male and 22 female their ages between 20 - 75years . The methods adopted was comparison of refractive status of eyes and visual acuity at baseline and after control of diabetes. The measurements included visual acuity with log MAR and refraction with autorefractometer and the random blood glaucose before and after 10 days control of diabetes. The result showed significant change in refractive error before and after control of diabetes at (p < 0.05) with a hyperopic shift and mean of 0.12D and visual acuity revealed no significant difference after control of diabetes. This study conclude that any optical correction for diabetic patients should be delayed after good control.

To Evaluate the Effect of Treatment on Glaucoma Patients on Vision and lntraOcular Pressure and Visual Field
    (AL-Neelain University, 2014) Solafa Ali Al-Tayeeb Ali
Aims: To evaluate the visual function in glaucomatous patient in (Maka Eye Complex) conceming the impact of the treatment (medication. surgery and laser) on the visual function (i.e. visual acuity. visual field) and IOP. Methods: The age of the patients was ranged between (18 - 80) years with obvious tendency for those between 40 — 60 years. 52% were males and 48% were females. A total of 300 patients with glaucoma underwent treatment and had different period of follow up ranging between (I - 50) months post treatment. from records (201 l - 2013) were included in this study. Before the treatment a detailed history were included. background personal data was taken. Refraction and best corrected visual acuity were obtained. lntraocular pressure (IOP) was measured by Goldman applanation monitor, the visual field of each patient was assessed by using an octopus. Follow up: Each patient was followed up monthly to assess the vision. visual field and IOP. The vision and [OP were taken in the first day before treatment and in the last day after treatment in different period in between (1 - S0) month. Best correct visual acuity (B.C.V), and IOP were compared with the pre treatment record visual field was measured post treatment. Result: 86% underwent medication. while 10% have laser treatment and 4% surgical treatment; all patients have a refractive error. 63% hypermetropia and 37% myope. The study showed that 39% of patients have no improvement. and 41% of patients had vision improvement. while 20% showed deterioration of vision in the RE. Fourty two percent 42% of patients were not improved. and 35% of patients had vision improvement, and 23% showed deterioration of vision in the LE. RE IOP: The range of IOP was found between (2 - 46) mm Hg with and obvious tendency (49%) to reading between (14 - 24) mm Hg. LE IOP: The range of IOP was between (2 - 52) mm Hg with and obvious predication (50%) to reading between (13 - 23) mm Hg. RE: 26% showed mild loss of visual field. 32% showed moderate loss while 42% showed marked loss. LE: 22% showed mild loss of visual field, 35% showed moderate loss while 43% showed marked loss.

The Effect Of Fixation DisparityOn Binocular Visual Acuity
(AL-Neelain University, 2002-08) Done By Faiza Hamdalla
Abstract This project is carried out in binocular visual acuity in the presence of fixation disparity created by prisms A sample of 20 young adults was surveyed in clinics of Faculty of Optometry and Visual Science and they had good binocular vision, reduction in binocular visual acuity with the magnitude of fixation disparity was found, to achieve our original goals a clinical investigation was carried out in normal subject with good vision (6/5) symptoms free. By using loose prisms (3-5-7-9-11). The induced misalignment of the visual axis is present and it varied from one patient to another, the vision decreased due to displaced retinal image, and there was a direct relationship between prism dioptre and fixation disparity, and an indirect relation between visual acuity and the induced fixation disparity. The subjects were selected randomly including both males and females. The age variation ranged between (21-25) years. The criteria for selection included normal binocular single vision, symptoms free. Data gathered were tabulated and calculation included frequency percentage means- standard deviation and T-test were significant, the result of induced phenomenon comparing with Log-Mar (Test vision) and the displacement of retinal image by mms, were explain the indirect relation between binocular visual acuity to the induce fixation disparity. The key words were fixation disparity and visual acuity.

Treatment of Dry Eye: comparing the use of Tears Naturale Eye Drop, Omega 3, Physical Treatment and Exercises
(Al-Neelain University, 2014) Asmaa Jamal Abd Alwahid Mohmond
Abstract This study was designed to assess the benefit of the treatment of the dry eye by the use of tears naturale e.d, omega 3, and physical treatment and exercises. The study was done in (Khartoum capital - Sudan) in Banan Information Technologies Co., Humanitarian Aid Commission, Sudanese Airway Co. (HQ), and National Telecom Corporation Tower, and in (Al Sulaymaniyah city — Iraq) in Agricultural Faculty of Al Sulaymaniyah University. The study was done at June and July 2013 (Khartoum) and at September and October 20l3 (Al Sulaymaniyah). The study involved 90 subjects; 46 Sudanese and 44 Iraqis. There were 29 males and 61 females their ages ranged between 20 years and 43 years with a mean of 27.30 at 6.63. Those subjects were divided into three equal groups; 30 subjects were treated with tears naturale e.d, 30 subjects were treated with omega 3, and 30 by physical treatment and exercises. Subject's history had been taken, their outer and inner eyes were examined by ophthalmoscope, Schirmer test was done before and afier treatment to assess the tear film, and questionnaire was done to evaluate the case. l
