Item Anisometropia Following Intra Ocular Lens Implantation for Unilateral Cataract in Patients with Contralateral Ammetropia(AL-Neelain University, 2009-03) Sohair Mohammed GassimAbstract The aim of this study is to maintain binocular single vision in patients with intraocular lenses . ‘ Fifty patients were selected from Alwalidin eye hospital .in (May 2007 — March 2009 ) . All of the patients had a unilateral recent mature cataract .the operation had already done ,the selection of the patient done from records . The main cause was trauma . The other eye had refractive error more than Z.00D . Both eyes had no ocular abnormalities. The study intended to provide good assessment for each patient with refractive error in the unoperated eye before intraocular lens implantation . lnfomiation gathered included age ,gender. refraetionocular complaint. Fundscopy .keratometry .intraocular lens calculation and A-B scan . Partial retrospective study Statistical analysis of data was done by using SPSS program . The study revealed 36(72%) were males and l4 (28%) were Females .with a ratio of 3:1 respectively .The age ranged between 21 to 47 years .The calculations for IOL to maintain normal refractive state were performed before doing the surgery . Three months after surgery. 70% of patients presented with diplopia and 30% had other symptomstincluding headache . discomfort . nausia and vomiting . The refractive state showed a normal to small refractive error, less than lD spherical or astigmatic error in the psudophakic eye. while the other eye had a refractive error between 2 to 10 D .Item AMBLYOPIA AND COLOUR VISION(AL-Neelaain University, 2009) Linda Osman Mohammed Abd AllahAbstract This study aimed to find out the relationship between amblyopia and colour vision. Clinical experiments were carried out on (50) subjects suffering from functional unilateral amblyopia. (28) were males and (22) were females. Their age ranges between 6 to 30 years. All of them were from Abdel Fadeel Almaz, National Eye Hospital- Khartoum. All patients were examined with The City University colour vision test (TCU), third edition 1998. The results were presented in a form of frequency distribution tables and figures and analyzed statistically by using SPSS 11.5 for windows program to give the following results: - Colour vision was found to be normal in (92%) of functional unilateral amblyopes. - Frequency distribution of patients with colour vision defect among different types of functional unilateral amblyopia were as follow: Anisometropic 2 (7%), Strabismic 1 (13%), and Mixed anisometropic and strabismic 1 (8%). Key words Functional unilateral amblyopia, Colour vision, Anisometropia, Strabismus. الخلاصة هدفت هذه الدراسة لإيجاد العلاقة بين كسل العين و رؤية الالوان. أجري الفحص على عينة تتكون من (50) من المصابين بكسل العين الوظيفي الاحادي . منهم ( 27) من الذكور و (23) من الاناث, تتراوح أعمارهم بين 6 الى 30 عاماً. كل الحالات اختيرت من مركزعبد الفضيل الماظ القومي لطب العيون- الخرطوم. كل المرضى خضعوا لإختبار رؤية الالوان باستخدام إختبار(TCU)الطبعة الثالثة لعام 1998م. رصدت النتائج عبر جداول تكرارية ورسومات توضيحية وحللت إحصائيا باستخدام برنامج (SPSS 11.5 ) وأعطت النتيجة التالية: - رؤية الالوان وجدت طبيعية لدى (92%) من المصابين بكسل العين الوظيفي الاحادي. - التوزيع التكراري للمصابين بعمى الالوان في الانواع المختلفة لكسل العين الوظيفي الاحادي كانت كالاتي: الكسل الناتج من اختلاف الحالة الانكسارية بين العينين 2 (7%),الناتج من الحول 1 (13%), والناتج من اختلاف الحالة الانكسارية والحول 1 (8%). الكلمات المفتاحية كسل العين الوظيفي الاحادي, الرؤية اللونية, اختلاف الحالة الانكسارية بين العينين, الحول.
