    CHARCTERIZATION AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF ZINGIBER OFFICINAL

    Abstract The physical properties of ginger plant (Indian and Nigerian) which is one of medicinal plants were studied The X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF)result indicated that , the Indian ginger contained Potassium (K),Manganese (Mn),Iron (Fe),Copper (Cu),Zinc (Zn), Lead (Pb), Bromine (Br), Rubidium (Rb), Strontium (Sr), Zirconium (Zr). And the Ginger (Nigerian) contain Potassium (K),Titanium (Ti), Manganese (Mn), Iron (Fe), Copper (Cu), Zinc (Zn), Lead (Pb), Rubidium (Rb), Strontium (Sr), Zirconium (Zr) Potassium concentration is higher in the Indian ginger.while the Iron content lower . From the Ultra Violet Results (UV) the Indian ginger band gap (5.74ev) and that of the Nigerian ginger (4.98ev). we found this indicate they are insulators. The Results of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis showed that both Indian and Nigerian ginger contain the following compounds: Alcohol, phenol, alkenes, aromatic rings, a group aldehydes, ketones, and a hydroxyl. V المستخلص قد تمت دراسة الخصائص الفیزیائیة لنبات الزنجبیل ( الھندي والنیجیري ) الذي یعتبر من النباتات الطبیة وذلك بواسطة الاجھزة التالیة : ان الجنزبیل الھندي یحتوي علي (XRF) اشارت نتائج جھاز مطیاف توھج للأشعة السینیة ، (Zn) الزنك (Cu ) النحاس ( Fe) الحدید ، ( Mn) المنجنینز (K) العناصر الاتیة البوتاسیوم كما ان . (Zr) الزركونیوم ( Sr ) السترونشیوم ، (Rb) الربیدیوم ، (Br) البروم ، ( Pb) الرصاص ، (Mn) المنجنیز (Ti) التیتانیوم ، (K) الجنزبیل النیجیري یحتوي علي العناصر الاتیة البوتاسیوم ، (Rb) الربیدیوم (Pb) الرصاص (Zn) الزنك ، (Cu) النحاس ، (Fe) الحدید تركیز البوتاسیوم نسبتھ اعلي في الجنزبیل الھندي الا ان (Zr) الزركونیوم ، (Sr) السترونشیوم وجد ان فجوة الطاقة في (UV) نسبة الحدید فیھ اقل . اما النتائج من جھاز الاشعة فوق البنفسجیة 4.98 ) وھذا یدل علي انھا من المواد العازلة. اما ev ) 5.74 ) والنیجیري ev) الجنزبیل الھندي بینت انا الجنزبیل (الھندي والنیجیري) (FTIR) نتائج مطیاف تحویل فوریر للاشعة تحت الحمراء یحتوي علي المركبات الاتیة الكحول ، الفینول الالكینات ، الحلقات العطریة ، مجموعة الالدھیدات ، والكیتونات ، ومجموعة الھیدروكسیل
