Item The Dynamics of Religious Faith in Emily Dickinson's Poetry(2016) Mahmmoud Abbas Siddig ELnaiemAbstract This study examines the dynamics of religious faith of the American poet Emily Dickinson, it tries to discover the motives that lead her into doubt, skepticism, in one time, and belief and certainty in the other, and blending faith and doubt together in the third. The researcher studied the poet's religious poems and chose nine from them to demonstrate the stages of her religious faith, and the factors that contribute to make her refuse the church's religion and Christianity, this nine poems are just samples to explain her attitude towards religion, because most of her poems and letters- even those that are not intended to speak about religion, associate religion indirectly, as the using of the Bible vocabularies, diction associated with Christian sacraments, and the language of Calvinism is also evident in her poetry and provides a rich source of imagery; furthermore, her poetry is influenced by rhythms of protestant hymns.
