Item The Evolutionary Link between Inspirational Nature and Creative Art in Wuthering Heights and Shakespearean Sonnet 18(2016) Muhammad Al Rasheed IbraheemAbstract This research aimed ar reviewing aspects of inspiration and creation in literary writings. Texts were examined in this study in concern with nature inspiration, as well as the effect of nature on the writers, all in the context of analytic descriptive style. Methods used in this study depend on the views and theories of Plato and Aristotle with regard to art mirroring nature. Nature and aspects of inspiration in rural areas and landscape are the most important sensory elements of inspiration for most romantic writers as proved in the study. The study takes Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte and Sonnet18 by William Shakespeare as its samples for investigation. These romantic texts together represent nature-inspired literary writings; the connection between nature and art is found in literary writings like novels and poems, nature and inspirational landscape, all these elements affect on the writers’ imagery and creativity. These findings suggest the continuity of the creative process in literature since ancient times up to present time and for everlasting. المستخلص هدفت هذه الدراسة لاستعراض جوانب الإلهام و الإبداع في الكتابات الأدبية, تمت دراسة النصوص في هذه الدراسة فيما بتعلق بالإلهام الطبيعي و تأثير الطبيعة على الكُتاب بطريقة فعالة, و ذلك في سياق الأسلوب الوصفي التحليلي. الطبيعة و جوانب الإلهام في المناطق الريفية و المناظر الطبيعية تُعد أهم مصادر الإلهام الحسية بالنسبة لمعظم الكتاب الرومانسيين كما ثبُتَ في هذه الدراسة. تتناول الدراسة رواية (وذرينج ايتس) للكاتبة إميلي بروتي و (السوناتة18)لويليام شيكسبير كعينتين للتحقيق. يمثل هذان النصان الأدبيان الرومانسيان عملين أدبيين مُلهمين من الطبيعة.تُشير هذه النتائج إلى استمرارية العملية الإبداعية في الأدب منذ العصور العتيقة إلى يومنا هذا و إلى ما لا نهاية.Item The Experience of Desire to Death, Rebirth and Committing Suicide: As Treated in “The Bell Jar” by: Sylvia Plath(2016) Fatima Al-Khansa YousifABSTRACT In the novel “The Bell Jar” by the American novelist Sylvia Plath, the narrator and protagonist, Esther Greenwood, represents a semi-autobiographical double character of Plath herself. That can be sensed in the way in which Esther Greenwood deals with mourning over the loss of her father, the disconnected relationship with her mother and her society’s beliefs about women. This study analyzes Plath’s life period including six months in the novel, which is related closely with the two experiences: death and rebirth on one side and committing suicide on the other one. The researcher uses “The Bell Jar” original book with its details to analyze the cases which involve her experience in life. This research is an attempt to obtain the important issues of woman’s position in the society, as she is a lacking creature with limited functions. The results of this study show that the society’s point of view towards woman may lead her to permanents depression and which may lead her to think seriously of suicide as it shown in the novel.
