Item A mathematical model for economic load dispatch problem of a thermal power station (case study Al Shaheed power station - KHNPS)(جامعة النيلين - مجلة الدراسات العليا, 2018) Khalil. B. Ahmed. A; Adel E. Ahmed; M. A. Elbasheer; Abdeldime M. S. AbdelgaderIn this paper, a mathematical model was developed to solve the economic load dispatch problem in Alshaheed thermal station. The mathematical model included manipulates the data of generators, fuel and loss coefficients calculation and objective function formulation. Several power tests were carried with different heat consumption rate, and then Willans curves were plotted, while the fuel coefficients were calculated using Cramer’s rule. The transmission lines impedance curve was represented and line losses were computed. Later, in order to optimize the cost production of real power generated, the objective function for each generator was formulated subjected to constrain using fuel and loss coefficients. The results reveals that the fuel coefficients values significantly decreases compared to previous studies, and the transmission line losses are about 1.7% of the generated power, which reduces the total cost.
