Item The Impact of the Speech Acts Used Purposefully on EFL Classroom Communicative Competency (Case study of the EFL teacher in Smart International Schools Khartoum/Sudan)(Al-Neelain University, 2021-02) Musa Altahir Mohammed AliAbstract This study aims to identify the impact of the use of speech acts techniques and strategies in EFL classroom on academic achievement and communicative competency. The purpose of this research is to find out which speech acts mostly used by an EFL teacher that have great impact to the learners’ comprehension to the target language. While teaching, the reason of why certain speech acts is preferred by the teacher. The study uses Searle’s taxonomy of speech act classification as the tool to classify the teachers talk. The findings of the research show the frequency of each classification shows that the teacher mostly used Directive speech act due to his use of the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) method of teaching and it was a success and impacted the students’ communicative competency positively. Nonetheless, it is known that utterances may have more than just one act sometimes, therefore, the researcher has done his best figuring out what is the most appropriate one based on the context and the co-text elements. The use of directive speech act apparently make implication towards the improvement of the students’ productive skills. The study concludes that the choice of speech acts classification determines the teaching approach and vice versa. It is recommended for English teachers to help students to achieve communicative competency to use more directive speech acts and it is highly recommended that iiiteachers should be familiar with the speech acts forms and understand using the right acts to help their students achieve communicative competency. Finally, it is recommended that teachers should use more expressive acts to motivate, support, and build strong rapport with their students.Item Satisfaction of Medical Students Toward Simulation Based Learning in Private Faculties of Medicine at Khartoum State, Sudan ,2020(Al-Neelain University, 2020) Almoeiz Yousif Hammad MohammedABSTRACT Aim This study was conducted to in three private faculty of medicine at Ahfad University of Women, National University and Ibn Sina university, in Khartoum state, Sudan. to study satisfaction of students toward simulation based learning Background Simulation is a method or technique that is employed to produce an experience without going through the real event. Simulation opens up opportunities that are not available in real event learning, such as apprenticeships, and at the same time provides a multifaceted safety container for learning. Research Methods This research was conducted in three selected private faculties of medicine at ahfad university of women, National university - Sudan is and Ibnsina university, data of 372 students was collected by using questionnaire that was designed especially for this research by taken all scientific aspect into account in its writing. Personal interviews were made with all the participants for the study, and they were informed of its goals, and written consent was obtained from them. Result The research result represented the satisfaction of student about simulation based learning. Student of ahfad university are more satisfied in a compare with national university and Ibnsina university, students opinions about inclusion of simulation based learning, opportunities to deal with simulators, role of instructor and time allocated to skills lab gives significant variation (p = .001, .005, .004 and .001) respectively. Conclusion In conclusion, the promise of simulation-based medical training offers useful opportunities to reduce risks to patients and learners, improve learners' competence and confidence, increase patient safety, and reduce health care costs in the long run. However, robust research is needed to see if simulation training does actually improve patient outcomes. Also the student showed a wide acceptance of these techniques, which gives a hints to expand in this area.
