To achieve this purpose, three tests in pronunciation were employed to produce primary data and to establish reasons why students commit these errors? The thesis model tests age, gender, interference and intralanguage. The results showed that the impact of the mother tongue in pronunciation acquisition is the main factor which influences English pronunciation followed by errors resulting from factors other than mother tongue i.e., intralingual errors. The study is divided into six chapters: Chapter one introduces the thesis and states the problem, the assumption, the objectives and the significance of the work. Chapter two focuses on the basic theories and hypotheses. Chapter three reviews the literature on error analysis in the domain of phonology. Chapter four presents the means of the data collection and introduces the subjects with detail information about pronunciation errors. It also defines and comments upon the questions of objectivity, reliability and validity. Chapter five explains and discusses the result of the test represented by tables and graphs followed by_a discussion and a visual representation in the form ol‘ figures and graphs to rapidly assess what problems the students may encounter. A Chapter six provides a summary of the study, and repeats the findings and giving suggestions for further research.enENGLISH LANGUAGEPHONOLOGICAL ERROR ANALYSISDEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE PHONOLOGICAL ERROR ANALYSIS OF THE SPOKEN ENGLISH OF AL~NEELAIN FOURTH—YEARThesis
