The first part of the thesis dealt with mathematical models of civil protests. The model describes the level of individuals who are willing to join the revolution or protests against a dictatorial regime that uses censorship and police repression. The results illustrate the impact of modern means of communication (the Internet, the media, social media, etc.) on the revolution. The second part of the thesis presented examples of the dynamics of the spread of protests between different geographic regions. The model provided a description of the expression of wave protests using SIR modelling approach. The results showed that geographical proximity played an important role in the spread of protests. The results explained whenever the repression was intensified, the number of protesters increased in different geographical location.
