Abstract

Abstract This research tackled Self-Concept and Psychological Needs among inmates in the Port Sudan The researcher used the descriptive method and the research Sample Comprised (wt) inmates , they were selected on basis of purposive method . The research tools involved : i. Self-Concept scale designed by the researcher . Y. Psychological needs inventory designed by the researcher . _ The researcher used the following statistical processes to analyses the data : i. Pearson's correlation coefficient between each item score and the total score . Y. Alpha Cronbach formula for reliability . \". Pearson's correlation coefficient to test the correlation between self-concept and psychological needs 2. The .test for one sample to examine the general trail of the psychological variables . 0. The test for two independent samples to test the differences . 1. On way ANOVA to examine the differences on self- concept and the psychological needs among drugs traffickers attributable to some variables .

The following were the results obtained : l. Self -concept among the drugs traffickers was positive . r. Psychological needs among the drugs traffickers were higher on aggression , selfishness , exhibitionism , isolation and blame . But they were low on self- defense need . » r. There was significantly statistical correlation between self-concept and psychological needs among drugs traffickers . 2. There was significant correlation between self-concept and psychological needs and age of drugs traffickers . 0. There were statistical significant difference on self- and psychological needs concept between married and single form drugs traffickers . 1. There was statistical significant correlation between punishment period and psychological needs and self- concept drugs traffickers . There were statistical significant difference on self-and psychological needs concept attributed to level of education . g A. There were statistically significant difference on self- concept and psychological needs among drugs traffickers to a number of imprisonment .
