Abstract

Abstract This_.,Lnstudy is resent in seven chapter to explain the processes of sanddunes formation on the northem part of EL Geteena provinc White Nile State. It is intened to show that the desert creeping associated with storm events and climatic changes are the study examined the causes which lie behind the formation and movement of sands in the area through samples exposed to lab analysis and the techeniques of remote sensing. It has been found that two main factors came together to account for migration of the desert:(a) the severe drought which hit the African Sahel during the last decadesof the t -H‘ centur , and (b) the reteat of the green area due to man,s malfunction. The lab analysis of mineral in the area has also shown that these mineral were disintegrated from rocks representing the source of 4 salid- origin or parent or material disintegrated deposited due to erosion by wind and water through the Blue Nile and it stnbutaris.
