Abstract

Abstract Research aims to reveal the social and developmental role that provided by voluntary and government organizations and the contribution of the local community members in the development process, the searcher used the descriptive analytical approach in addition to case study, the questionnaire and field observation use in data collection, the importance of research come from the high attention that voluntary and govemmental organizations find to serve local communities as well as the contribution of the respondents in the service of their community, has been selected a systematic random sample. ~ » lmportant result are: _ — voluntary and govemment organizations played a major role in environmental sanitation and resulted in the study area free from epidemics and evidenced by the stability ofthe health indicators. — The participation of voluntary and populist associations was clear through the activities exercised. — Training has led to the development of skills and abilities and . increase the awareness ofmembers ofthe community in addition to opening new opportunity for women to eam their leaving. The most important recommendations are: — highlight the benefits of voluntary \vork that accrue to the individual and society, and to optimize the potential ofindividuals, especially young people in the useful and productive areas for the benefit oflocal community development. ' — The importance ofcoordination between govemment and voluntary efforts, so that voluntary organizations can play a role in development to the fullest. — The participation of women in development, learning the women skills of hand work, the fight against illiteracy and open community development centers.
