Abstract

Abstract Research Tile : planning for Local National Information Centre in the White Nile State in the Sudan . Prepared the Student : Omar Mohammed Ahmed Ali Supervised by doctor : El Nisr Abdul Fadial Selim University I Al — Neileen Unversity _ Faculty Arts . Department I Libarary and information Sciences Degree I Doctorate ( Philosopjhy of Doctrate ) . Year : 2006 This research aims planning for an Information National Centres (Local) in the White Nile State , in order to introduce the technologh to promote the services ( Information and beneficiary services ) , and that through the identifing the current sutuation of information in the State , also the identifing of the financial and human abilities which are necessary for planning for that centre and trying the significance of the suggested centre . ' The researcher uses the historical method , and the descriptive an alytical for the samples . He uses the statistical method for measuring the varieties of the research. Also the questionnaire is used as tool for collecting the data and surveying information, in addition to the interview to support the questionnaire and to fill the gaps. The most important findings of the research are: .1. The White Nile State is in great need to an information centr in the Sudan. 2. The lack of existence of the separate budget for the information organizations in the State. 3. The scarcity of working forces which are qualified in the field of information, with absence of training courses inside or outside. 4. The absence of the clear policy for information in the White Nile State. 5. The majority of the institution in the state uses the traditional means which waste time, effort and money. 6. The official situation for the workers of the information organizations in the institutions of the White Nile State is not satisfying. the light of the preceding findings the research, the following are the most important recommendations: 1. The necessity of establishing an information centre in the White Nile State, and the concerned sides should provide money for building a modern centre,
