Abstract

A abstract This research tackles Southern Sudan history during the period 1947 — 1956 . Also it deals with its geography history and its population , with the review of the south historical background , development of the political awareness and the condition that led to the formation of the southern political parties . From the most important questions that the research gives answers to are that; the causes of the administrative fluctuation of the British administration in the south during the period 1889 — 1930 , which represent in its separation from the north at times and its annexation at other times to the North in Juba Conference in 1947 ; which was an absolute British plan. Also from the most significant question is that Did Turit events in 1955 the start of the south problem? Did these events encourage the south so as to be independent as apolitical entity ? what was the role of Elazhari govemment, the British administration and the Egyptian govennnent which is the nominal partner ' Of British in the treatment of the causes of 195 5 events. Most of the Northem Sudanese believe that the south did not play apositive role In Sudan independence in 1956. This means that the south was just abridge for the North when the southern in . the parliament voted unanimously for Sudan independence in 195 6.

From the most important reached results are : The policies adopted by some government of bad treatment of ethnic, cultural ,' religion and Linguistic dissimilarities had led to what is Known as south problem Unfortunately the bodies of these government continuously inflame these defenses . The best Solution is to demonstrate the aspect , of all Sudanese cultures with their different dissimilarities and keep away from specification of the Sudanese identity .And the recognition shall not just be of the south problem, but that Sudan as a whole is a sum of problems, and it is necessary to deal with the policy of accepting the other by following the correct behavior in negotiation, consultation and remove to the obligations.
