Abstract
This study deals with the integration of students with visual
disabilities in regular schools from the point of view of the teachers of the
basic education stage in a marine unit. The study aimed to identify the
attitudes of the teachers of the basic education stage in a marine unit
towards the integration of visually impaired students in the stage schools,
Visually and psychologically, academically and socially, and also know
the most important factors that lead to the success of integration
effectively and follow the researcher descriptive method using the
questionnaire as a tool to collect data from the research sample, which
reached 100 teachers out of the research community of 712 teachers A
naval base unit, and the researcher used "spss" software for data
processing and statistical analysis, and then reached the results of the
most important teachers of the basic education stage of a maritime unit
towards the idea of integrating visually impaired pupils in regular schools
characterized by positive trends. The integration of visually impaired
pupils with their ordinary peers has great benefits and benefits for pupils
with visual, psychological, academic and social disabilities. It is better for
pupils with visual disabilities to integrate with their regular peers in
regular schools instead of isolating them in their own institutions. The
study made many recommendations, including: The State in all its sectors
should encourage the idea of integrating visually impaired students into regular schools. Rehabilitation of teachers of basic education in the field
of dealing with visually impaired people. The need to provide all the
potential needed by the visually impaired student to improve his
academic and social status when integrated into regular schools.
