Abstract
Abstract
This study is an attempt to investigate the drop
of the English Language standard at the Basic and
secondary levels and its relationship with SPINE
Series, from Book One to Book Six (the current
curriculum), with the aim of improving the pupils‘
standard.
The study adopted a descriptive analytic
method. The population represents seven schools
and the sample makes a total of 299 pupils.
The instruments used to collect the necessary
data were: three questionnaires, six interviews,
observations, comparisons, documents, checklists
and tests. The reliability and validity of these tools
were checked and the quality of the collected data
was tested.
The importance of the curriculum and its
relationship with the level of English achieved in
the General Education is, however, revealed.
The study has drawn some conclusions and
indicated some implications, recommendations
and suggestions for further studies.
